Mercury / Budha in Vedic Astrology

neutral in BPHS: benefic when connected with benefics and capable of becoming malefic when joined to malefics. BPHS describes Mercury as attractive in physique, skilful in the use of words with many meanings, fond of jokes, and of mixed temperament. Core field: intellect, language, calculation, trade, adaptability, analysis, learning, skill, friends and the capacity to connect information. Mercury’s condition is unusually dependent on association. Its conjunctions and aspects are therefore central to interpretation rather than secondary modifiers.

How to use these placement pages

Mercury is especially dependent on association in BPHS, so its conjunctions, dispositor and surrounding benefic or malefic influence deserve unusual weight. The twelve pages below preserve that context rather than giving isolated one-line predictions.
